Passionate Jesus walker Edward Pozyn’s 1 400km Gospel trek from Howick KwaZulu-Natal to Cape Town took a surprising twist in Bloemfontein when he was asked by local intercessors to deliver a prophetic “revival scroll” to intercessors in Cape Town.

It was the end of Passover when he and his mission partner Anthony Fish received the scroll which carries an End-Times message that the Lord was highlighting to intercessors during the Passover season. And yesterday — at the end of his gruelling 2-months walk he handed the scroll to pastors Arthur and Michelle Coetzee in Cape Town who have been entrusted with opening and releasing the scroll

Since Jesus rescued him in 2011 when he was destitute Edward has taken a number of long walks to share hope in Christ around the country. During the first stretch of his latest walk he injured a foot and it was a great relief when volunteer Anthony Fish joined him from Winburg, providing valuable support by carrying Edward’s luggage in his vehicle, preparing meals and refreshments and keeping him motivated in tough times.

Edward said he was humbled and honoured to be entrusted with delivering the scroll to Cape Town. Anthony complemented the mission by blowing a shofar in each town and at strategic places. They were especially blessed when they learned that on a day that Anthony blew the shofar under a spectacular “super moon” in the Karoo, two other believers were blowing shofars at Cape Agulhas and Cape Point.

Another notable event was in Beaufort West at a point when he was feeling like giving up the journey because of his aggravated foot injury. He asked a lady at an accommodation establishment for their wifi password and she wrote down “cape to cairo”. Believing that the scroll he was carrying was destined to travel on to Cairo and then to Jerusalem, he took this as a sign to complete his mission.

The scroll

Bloemfontein businessman and prayer ministry leader Andre Venter who received the prophetic message that is conveyed on the scroll said it was connected with the prophecy of Malachi 4:5,6 — “See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.” — which was fulfilled by John the Baptist during the time he proclaimed the arrival of the Messiah, Jesus.

To this day, based on Malachi 4:5,6, Jewish people are expecting Elijah to return and herald the arrival of the Messiah. Andre Venter said he believed that as John had to come in the spirit and power of Elijah to prepare the way for the First Coming of Jesus, so it will be for His Second Coming with an Elijah figure preparing the way.

Asked whether the scroll would be travelling to Cairo and Jerusalem he said all he was certain of was that it needed to be taken to Cape Town. He added that a messianic pastor from Carmel in Israel, where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal, was on a webinar with them on the day they handed the scroll to Edward.

Since receiving the scroll Michelle Coetzee has disclosed that the Lord has led them to release it — and a “sound of from Cape to Cairo to Jerusalem and the nations” — this weekend while standing on a map of Africa. She said at a time when some were hoping to dedicate SA to ancestors she had a vision of the Lion of Judah walking from south to north across the map, roaring victoriously as he confirmed his redemptive revival plans.
