Unfortunately many South African Christians and Churches are unaware of the Islamisation of their own country and the fact that the Jewish community in SA are becoming more isolated and many Jews no longer feel safe to walk in SA streets wearing their traditional religious dress, says Kamil Kiroglu, founder of Egeiro Ministry which hosted a fasting and intercession camp for South Africa and Israel last weekend.
Neither are these Christians mindful of the international boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign against Israel or the global growth of anti-Semitism, says Kiroglu, the visionary behind the two days of intensive spiritual warfare on a farm near Humansdorp.
“The camp was no retreat or holiday camp, but a gathering which had the objective to gain a prophetic understanding of our times and to intercede for our nation as well as for Israel, because it is a globally accepted fact that during recent years the persecution of Christians all over the world has increased drastically, as has anti-Semitism,” says Kiroglu who comes from a Muslim background in Turkey, but was called to South Africa as a Christian missionary to wake up the sleeping church in this nation.
He explains that the two-day camp had a full programme of worship, intercession, information sessions, and testimonies and prophecies.
Intense experience
“It was an intense experience, more intense than I anticipated.
“We examined current world trends, such as increasing Islamic terrorism in Africa, increasing persecution of Christians around the world, growing anti-Semitism, and the expanding campaign of sanctions and disinvestment against Israel, which are all a manifestation of the growing tribulations for both Christians and Jews.
“We looked at all these trends in the light of Biblical revelation,” says Kiroglu.
Adam Kepkey of Bridges For Peace in South Africa provided updates on the current situation of global anti-Semitism, anti-Semitism in South Africa and how to support and bless Israel practically. He also led intercession for Israel.
“Adam’s insights and the information he provided were extremely interesting and key to being able to understand why it is important to stand by Israel and how Jewish people are being targeted in South Africa,” says Kiroglu.
“The global anti-Semitic movement today is very much the same as it was just before the Nazi holocausts of Jews. It is rapidly growing and encouraging bad treatment and even violence against God’s people. Thus it is a grave concern,” he adds.
Etienne De Jager from Christian Friendly Products (CFP) informed those gathered about Halaal trade and to what extent South African Christians empower the spread of Islam by supporting the Halaal trade.
De Jager led prayer for the adoption of an alternative Christian label that honours God by honouring Christ, and has the sole purpose of enriching the Kingdom of God.
Kiroglu presented sessions on the Islamisation of South Africa and how to pray for truth and the salvation of Muslims.
Compelled
Kiroglu says he was compelled to organise the weekend of intercession and fasting for South Africa and Israel after God woke him up in the early hours of the morning during November 2014 and told him to read the book of Joel.
“As I was reading the book God showed me that very troublesome times are coming for Christians and Jews.
“Then the Lord told me to organise a fasting and prayer camp bringing together committed Christians so that they could turn to Him with all their hearts, with fasting, praying and interceding for their nation and the nation of Israel, and gain a Biblical, prophetic understanding on what is going on in the world.
“We should not be careless and indifferent to what is happening around us, because many of our Christian brothers and sisters are suffering severe persecution.
“It is also important that we stand together with God’s chosen people, the nation of Israel, by extending whatever comfort we are able to, and by standing in the gap for them and interceding on their behalf whenever we pray.”
Kiroglu says all-in-all the weekend was a great success with a high level of unity among participants, whether they were from conservative, traditional, liberal or charismatic backgrounds.
He reports that everybody pressed together hard in prayer and intercession, and participated in the information sessions.
The weekend of intercession and fasting ended with sharing a communion meal.
Kiroglu says the next step is to start a weekly prayer movement.
“We are setting-up infrastructure to publish an informative article each week about relevant issues concerning the Islamisation of South Africa, together with a theme for prayer for the week.”

According to Kiroglu, the people of God are under heavy spiritual attack.
“When I speak about the people of God I refer to two groups. Firstly, the people of Israel, God’s chosen people. Secondly, Christians who are God’s adopted children.
“I believe both Jews and Christians are under a well-orchestrated attack all over the world
“Ephesians 6:12 tells us that: ‘. . . we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places’.
“Our only possible response is spiritual warfare or intercessionary prayer. That is why we feel that we need to gear our prayer initiatives against Islamisation and for the people of Israel and Christians all over the world.
“I think the time has come for South Africans to focus their prayer efforts for the Kingdom of God rather than for their own health and wealth problems.
“To do this successfully they need to be informed about what is going on in the world against the Kingdom of God and the people of God, so that they can pray about those issues, like Jewish students being attacked at universities in Europe.
“I encourage Christians to link-up with organisations like Bridges for Peace, INcontext Ministries, and with us, (EGEIRO Ministry), to obtain relevant information and a good Biblical perspective to be able to start interceding on the basis of what is happening in the world,” says Kiroglu.
Kamil Kiroglu is a Christian missionary who holds a B.Th. from South African Theological Seminary (SATS). Kamil is the founder of EGEIRO Ministry and he is specialised in defending and upholding Biblical truth against Islamic claims such as “we all believe in the same god”. Kamil was born and raised in Turkey as a Muslim. At the age of 24, he became a Christian and served in the Turkish Church until 2009. After he became Christian, he was rejected by his family and severely beaten by radical Muslims. In 2009, he was called to South Africa to awaken and empower the South African Church especially concerning Islam, Islamisation and Muslim evangelism. Currently, Kamil lives in South Africa with his family and he continues to serve at Egeiro Ministry.
